Welcome to the EI Profile!

You are about to experience the power of how a new way of thinking about yourself and others can create amazing results. Based on the concept of emotional intelligence (EI), the EI Profile is a unique tool that can enhance, inspire, and transform individuals and organizations. This training module will prepare you to be the catalyst for others to enhance their understanding of what emotional intelligence is and explore their potential for improving themselves and their abilities in working with others.

Why Emotional Intelligence?

For a long time, our society has defined “smart” in one basic way – how well do you perform in school? Whether you are smart has come about from a definition of intelligence according to a framework of your intelligence quotient – your IQ. IQ does not predict success in organizations, jobs, careers, and every day life. IQ can not account for why we have brilliant stars across the professions, exceptional volunteers, or stand-outs in our communities. EI does - it describes a new way of being smart – a way that is accessible to all. EI provides a deeper understanding of how and why certain people excel when others falter or fail.

 

The EI Profile

The EI Profile is a self-assessment that focuses on a person's unique capabilities and preferences. This instrument is not a test – there are no wrong answers. This instrument is not a diagnostic tool – the results demonstrate a picture of what a person believes are strengths and what matters. The EI Profile is intended to enhance self-awareness and self-understanding. The results provide individuals with an opportunity to see themselves in a new light, blemishes and all. The EI Profile also offers powerful insight into what can be done for self-improvement and how to make a commitment to action for the future.

 

Training Module

The EI Profile is designed to be easily administered and interpreted, assuming that the person who is guiding the process understands EI well enough to teach it to others and is able to interpret the results of the assessment. The purpose of this training module is to prepare you to be that person. By the end of this training, you will understand what EI is and be able to explain why it is important. You will also be familiar with the instrument, what the steps are for taking the assessment, and how to explain these individual steps. Finally, this training module will teach you:

• how to interpret the results,
• how to ensure that those who have taken the instrument understand their results, and
• how to design a learning experience that provides those who take the instrument with a clear understanding of next steps.

Certification

At the completion of this training module, you will be certified to administer the EI Profile. This certification lasts one year from the time that you complete the training. Only those who have gone through a certified training program are able to administer the EI Profile. Upon certification, you will receive instructions as to how to order the instruments. Additionally, you will join a community of trained facilitators and have direct connections with one another as well as a host of resources that will support on-going learning and continued application of what you will learn here.
